Once a few celebrities start wearing your jewelry, then it’s certain: you’re a name brand. Of course, it matters who those celebrities are: their reputation and the way they’re seen by the world (do you want your jewelry to be associated with bad girls? Good girls? Someone who committed adultery? Someone who’s a new mom?). But, as a brand, you can’t really control who buys your product… The only thing you can control is who you choose as a spokesperson and who you gift your products to.
Us, fans, can’t always tell which celebrity buys certain products and which one gets them for free. So popularity might sometimes be subjective. However, some bracelets or necklaces are more often spotted on celebs than others, and that’s what we’re going to look at today.
1. Cartier Love Bracelet
The Cartier Love Bracelet is by far the most popular piece of jewelry among celebrities. The piece was originally designed in 1969, by Aldo Cipullo. Often offered as a gift to loved ones, the bracelet is an iconic piece at Hollywood and beyond. Retailing at over $3,500, the gold bracelet is thin and hard, and it can only be opened with the special screwdriver that comes with it in the case. It is so popular, that the brand also created earrings, cufflinks, rings, watches and necklaces with similar designs.
The bracelet appeared on the cover of Allure, Cosmopolitan and others, and between the pages of most fashion magazines. The wrists of Mila Kunis, Eva Mendez, Jennifer Aniston, Nicky Hilton, Rihanna, but also Kanye West, ZacEfron or Michael Stripe have all worn the simple, but filled with significance piece.
2.Hermes Collier de Chien Cuff Bracelet
Following the design of a “dog collar”, the Hermes bracelet features silver pleated spikes on leather, it’s chunky and edgy. Vintage bracelets retail at around $1,700 and it’s no wonder, with all the exposure this piece got from the media. Victoria Beckham, Lori Loughlin, LeAnn Rimes, Kelly Rutherford, Heidi Montag, Leighton Meester and Blake Lively are just some of the famous ladies who rocked the Hermes bracelet – on the red carpet and outside of it. Although you’d except this piece to be worn with leather skinnies and high heels, it’s often seen next to delicate, thin fabrics like chiffon or silk.
3. Chanel Camellia Ring
Available in black and white, the Chanel Camellia ring was first launched with the SS 2009 collection. The ring has since been on the covers of Marie Claire and Girlfriend magazine, has appeared in the cult fashion movie The Devil Wears Prada and has been spotted on the fingers of celebrities young and old. Crafted in France, out of precious metals and glass stones, the ring features a camellia flower that stole the hearts of every woman, from Kristen Steward and Jessica Chastain to Claudia Schiffer – most often at red carpet events. However, Keira Knightley is the one that’s been seen wearing the ring a record number of times.
4. House of Harlow 1960 Black Resin Traingle Necklace
The statement necklace from House of Harlow 1960 comes with geometrical charms, connected with 14KT gold pleated palladium – a perfect choice for both day looks and cocktail hour outfits. Featured prominently on CW, the necklace has appeared in The Roommate, Charlie’s Angles, MerlosePLace and 90210, to name just a few. Kim Kardashian, Katie Cassidy, Kara DioGuardi, Nicole Richie and Monet Mazur are some of the greatest fans of this easy-to-wear necklace.
5. Hermès Enamel Bracelet
Another one of the most popular jewelry pieces comes from Hermes. This time, it’s thin and metallic, and it can be purchased for around $450. Available in different colors, many celebrities took advantage of it and got the one that best matched their personality. Eva Longoria, Lindsay Lohan, Lady Gaga, Rachel Bilson, Tallulah Willis, Chiara Ferragnior Natasha Goldenberg are all part of the Hermes Enamel Bracelet fan club. Delicate and light to wear on an everyday basis, the bracelet can easily be dressed up for a fancy event – Dakota Fanning chose to wear it at her graduation, for example.
