How to Spice up Wedding Transportation with Classic Wedding Cars

Classic Wedding Cars

Looking for suggestions on how to spice up your wedding transportation with a classic car? Depending on your budget and how far you are willing to go to source your desired vehicle, the more options you may have. From coupes to convertibles and sedans to limousines, classics abound. Whatever suits your fancy, a classic wedding car is an exciting way to move around in style on your special day.

Coupes & Convertibles

Rain Drop, Drop Top

Weather permitting, convertibles are perhaps the best way to stand out on your wedding day due to the fact that they offer maximum visibility. For a great example of how to ride with the top off in style, look no further than the British royal family and their choices in classic wedding car transportation over the years. Recently, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle pulled up in a silver-blue Jaguar E-Type that was originally manufactured in 1968 but rebuilt to be electrically powered. A short time before them, the Duchess of Cambridge’s younger sister Pippa Middleton and her husband James Matthews drove off from their wedding in another Jaguar E-Type that’s the world’s oldest, built in 1961. Prince William and Kate Middleton left Buckingham Palace after their wedding in a vintage 1969 Aston Martin DB6 MK2 Volante that belonged to Prince Charles.

Those vehicles say plenty for British luxury, but how about something from this side of the pond? An American classic like the 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible Sally would be a good option. You could really spice things up with a 1971 Cadillac Eldorado convertible or a similar big body convertible Cadillac from the 1940s-1970s era.

Two Door, Hardtop

Coupes offer a sleek and spiffy way to cruise in a classic car on your wedding day. A 1968 Mercedes Benz 280SE Coupe is the perfect way to capture the splendor of yesteryear’s classy German luxury and engineering. Speaking of spicy, Ginger Spice, aka Geri Halliwell, was gifted a vintage 1964 Aston Martin DB5 coupe by her groom that’s the same model featured in the James Bond movie Goldfinger.

Sedans & Limousines

Three-Box Sedans

For those looking for a bit roomier configuration, a three-box sedan is necessary in order to provide adequate passenger space. The 1938 Rolls-Royce Phantom III provides the ultimate classic British wedding car experience and captures the grace and elegance of the 1930s. A Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, the nearest thing you can get to a country house on wheels, is a beautiful classic saloon from the 1950s and 1960s.

Lavish Limos

An antique Princess Rolls-Royce fits the bill perfectly when it comes to classic limos and will give your wedding a distinct air of elegance. While not so much elegant as they are decadent, a classic 90s Lincoln Town Car featuring a bar and hot tub might pique your interest for a truly distinctive choice in limousines.

This is by no means an all-inclusive list, but hopefully, it can give you some ideas and inspiration to find and book the perfect wedding car rental for transportation on your wedding day.
